Advanced French Immersion (FLEX)

Does your student speak French, but wants an immersive experience to improve? Come and join me in this immersive French experience! In this class, we will do fun activities and have conversations in French. I will be speaking in French only during this class as will students. There will be no live meetings, but students will watch videos that I have pre-recorded, as well as submitting work to me, sharing work with other students, and participating in group collaborations. Homework will be a combination of assignments submitted to just me, discussions with classmates, and collaborations with other students.

Week 1 Au Restaurant
Post an introduction video introducing yourself to the other students in French
Create a small skit with a partner that takes place in a restaurarant
Listen to a French restaurant conversation and answer the questions
Follow a journal prompt to write and share with peers

Week 2 A La Campagne
Post a video answering the questions I ask in my video
Post one video reply to a friend
Watch a YouTube video about traveling to the country and discuss with peers
Follow a journal prompt to write and read out-loud on video

Week 3 Au Supermarche
Post a video of you showing the food in your kitchen
Write out a shopping list (either real or pretend) and share with peers
With a partner, pick an article from the ones provided to read, discuss, and create a presentation

Week 4 En Vacances
Post a video answering the questions I ask in my video
Post one video reply to a friend
Read the provided article and answer the questions

Week 5 Les Animaux
Post a video of you answering the questions I ask in my video
With a friend, work to adopt an animal by naming it, writing its backstory, and deciding where it will live, in a mix of video and writing

Week 6 Chez Moi
Make a video showing us your bedroom
Create a simple map of your house and label the rooms and furniture

Week 7 Les Fetes
Create a video presentation about a holiday in France
