Landmarks of Puerto Rico

Let’s take a trip to the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. This Caribbean island holds a special geographical location and it is full of many interesting and historical places dating back to its “Taino” (Puerto Rican natives) roots and the Spanish and American colonizations. Come with me to explore the landmarks and important places in Puerto Rico. This lesson will look at natural, historical, and simply beautiful places you can see in Puerto Rico. We will discuss where they are, how they came to be, and what importance these hold for the Puerto Rican people. For some places we will also discuss the historical significance and what major events happened there. Students will get to interact among each other and with me to talk about what they like or dislike about these places. We will also take a virtual tour on Google Earth which will provide the students a better idea of what these places look like in person. Students do not need any previous knowledge of the island or its location as we will explore all this during class and they might even learn some Spanish words along the way.
