Flags of the World Club

  • Ages:
    Gradeschooler, Teen

How many flags of the world can you identify? Did you know there is a story and specific symbolism behind each flag?

During this ongoing class, we will learn about 3 flags from different countries or states each week. Students will observe the flag and comment on what they can see. We will then discuss the symbolism involved in each flag – colors, shapes, phrases, images, and so on. We will also listen to the official song of each country or state we learn about.

Each week, there will be a worksheet to print off including the flag and space to write the explanations of the symbolism of the flag. Students can keep them in a binder for future reference. Students do not need any prior experience or knowledge about countries or flags.

This is an ongoing class, so students are free to join or drop whenever they’d like.
This summer section will only be available on Tuesday evenings and Thursday mornings. I will create new sections when school starts back up in the fall with different days and times.
